DOWA ECO-SYSTEM Exhibits at Akita Eco & Recycling Festival

DOWA ECO-SYSTEM Co., Ltd. (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) and other Group companies exhibited at the 18th Akita Eco & Recycling Festival held at the Agora Square near Akita Station on September 1 and 2, 2018.

This annual event is intended to convey the importance of the environment and provide adults and children with opportunities to learn about the environment while having fun through exhibits and hands-on demonstrations conducted by businesses and other organizations located in Akita Prefecture.

The DOWA ECO-SYSTEM booth featured panels about our environmental and recycling business and refining business, displays of gold and silver ingots, and recycled materials such as end-of-life electronic circuit boards. We also conducted quizzes on what kinds of electronic products are small household electric appliances and gave away tissue packs that look like gold ingots to participants as prizes.

The weather was good on both days of the festival, and the DOWA ECO-SYSTEM booth was visited by some 800 people more than last year. At the “hold a gold ingot” demonstration, which has become an annual event, many people were astonished by how heavy gold is, making for a lively event.

In the future, we will continue to disseminate information at this type of event with the aim of informing even more people about environmental preservation measures that they can practice in their day-to-day lives such as recycling small household electric appliances.
